Mustang GT horsepower and EcoBoost hp
The 5.0L V8 in the 2020–2021 Mustang GT makes 460 hp at 7,000 rpm and 420 lb-ft of torque; the 2021 Mach 1 turns the same engine up to 480 hp. The Mustang EcoBoost's 2.3L turbo four makes 310 hp and 350 lb-ft, or 330 hp with the High Performance Package.
Mustang bolt pattern and lug nut torque
Every sixth-generation (S550) Ford Mustang uses a 5x114.3 bolt pattern — five lugs on a 4.5-inch circle — so the Mustang lug pattern is the same for the EcoBoost, the GT and the Mach 1. The lug nuts are M14x1.5, and Ford specifies 150 lb-ft of torque; retighten them within 100 miles of any wheel change.
Mustang GT and EcoBoost oil capacity
Ford's owner's manuals give the 5.0L V8 in the 2020–2021 Mustang GT a 10.0-quart oil capacity with the filter — more than the 9 quarts often quoted online. The 2020 Mustang GT oil type is SAE 5W-20; for 2021 Ford lists SAE 5W-30. The 2.3 EcoBoost oil capacity is 6.0 quarts of SAE 5W-30, or 5W-50 with the High Performance Package.
Mustang GT MPG and weight
EPA ratings put the Mustang GT at 18–19 mpg combined and the Mustang EcoBoost at 24–25 mpg combined, depending on the transmission. A 2020 Mustang GT with the 6-speed manual has a curb weight of 3,705 lb, about 160 lb more than the EcoBoost.
